Pros

-The pay isn’t bad for a journalism job. -Rarely work overtime. -Nice office (although would rather not have to come in 3 days). -Fairly laid back writing style-

Cons

-My manager might be the most evil person ever to grace the planet. Vindictive, manipulative, micromanaging, gaslighting and generally nasty while also being ditsy and largely incompetent. And they are treated like they are un-fireable when their behaviour is making their entire desk unproductive. Everyone is too scared to be creative or have any independent thought and make more mistakes because of them. -Management are a bit weird about the office being a great place for collaboration when in reality no one speaks all day. -The quality of the journalism generally is poor, the reporters want to write better content but this is discouraged by management. It’s a huge shame and is short-sighted as there’s no future for clickbait.

Pros

Good fun answering inbound calls frrom tipsters

Cons

£120 day rate is too low and they don't take it well when you say you feel uncomfortable with putting your name to controversial news articles
