- The area I worked in had many managers that lacked management skills: gaslit staff, favouritised certain staff members and believed them over staff that had worked there for many years - area managers were borderline hostile and had bad attitudes, always gossiping with floor managers when they came to visit stores - Forced staff to try products on customers skin and faces, made customers uncomfortable but as staff we had to do it sometimes if a manager was breathing down our necks - Store managers didn’t really have staff or customers best interests at heart, their interests were for themselves and how to make themselves look better to area and regional managers - some staff were kind of racist towards customers that spoke in accents or were international - really micromanagey retail sales techniques and didn’t allow staff to be themselves - low quality makeup that staff were forced to upsell to customers

Always try to make you work more than your contracted hours Expected to cover other stores Pressure from management to push customers onto their loyalty scheme Price increases and constant changing products basically giving staff to deal with unhappy customers daily

Sometimes reinforcement of training is annoying but I get why they do it so I can't really complain much. Also the managers do the schedule and it doesn't come out consistently, so you can't really have specific days/times that you know you for sure are working, more like like if you get scheduled yay, if not, whomp whomp.
