Passionate People, Best Market Product

Pros

Passionate founder, dedicated and hard working CEO, entrepreneurial minded employees with diverse backgrounds, very strong market product

Cons

The company has recovered from a difficult spell that came about just after the recession. During the downturn there were so many layoffs, often without notice. Good people were let go and it was a scary time at the company. However, JT, the CEO, has done an immense amount of work reorganizing and refocusing the company on priorities, execution, operations and safety.

Pros

Close to home (5 minute drive). Great group of people to work with. Great benefits. Willingness to get you involved in ongoing projects and time to get an understanding on how they do their business.

Cons

Increasing staff for upcoming projects that occasionally don't materialize. I quit a good job across town to work basically in walking distance from home and was laid off after working there 3 weeks because an upcoming project was axed.

Not the best point of my career

Pros

Exposure to different sides of the business

Cons

Management does not hear out their people, promotions had to do with politics, kissing up and hanging out outside of work. Nothing to do with knowledge, work ethic or dedication. My manager barely knew me, not engaged always had to remind him of issues and status of projects. He would give me things to manage and take over when it was doing well. But the moment something went wrong or too many questions came his way I got promoted with no title or raise. Imagine getting in new at a company and layoffs are happening all around, they had layoff after layoff for 2 years. It was a depressing environment

Lots of potential with a lot of issues

Pros

The people are great. Mostly everyone is friendly and eager to help. The company is growing rapidly. Lots of potential. JT is a wonderful and talented CEO.

Cons

Zero onboarding or training for new hires. Basically you are required to figure out everything on your own. No basic processes or procedures in place. Org chart severely outdated. Lack of clarity in job roles. Certain individuals would rather look down and chastise rather than encourage and uplift. File management system is chaotic. Good luck finding anything you need.

Pros

Not too many, people are friendly

Cons

TAS energy has gone through a major slump these days, with attrition rising and interdepartmental chaos, OPMs(Operations Managers) and EPM's(Engineering Project Managers) have lost control over the quality and do not meet project deadlines(2 weeks off on one project). HR is not helpful, they organize worthless events and do not hire people with expertise, I am surprised that HR is still actively posting jobs with the recent attrition of the half the purchasing department. I remember TAS being(2 years ago) a very active and near to perfect quality standards on all projects.
