Pros
- Advancement opportunities: My manager put me on a great path when I started at Symmetri and I was promoted quickly - Awesome people: Everyone is really nice and supportive - Good work/life balance: Not sure why other people complained about this in previous reviews. There are some long days (it's an agency), but the overall work/life balance here is the best I've had in my career - Perks: Free food/beer in the kitchen, happy hours, etc. - Opportunity to really own what you're doing: It's a small agency, so you get to really own everything from start to finish. You're involved with the strategy, the execution, and the reporting - Flexibility: We now have flex time and the option to work from home on occasion
Cons
I don't have any specific cons to speak to. At the end of the day, if you like the small agency vibe, you're going to like it here. Are things perfect all the time? Of course not - they aren't anywhere. But if you want to be at a place where you can really own your projects and work with people who are genuinely nice and hard-working, then you'll be very happy here.
Pros
Definitely fun people to work with even remotely. Management asked us to come in one day a week to work together face-to-face. Fun lunches or after hours drinks on that day. Most of the people care about their work and deliver great ideas.
Cons
Some processes that should work well at an agency that's been doing this for a while are a bit old and need to be fixed. Keep employees in the know on agency operations.
Pros
It's a small agency so you can gain some varied experience
Cons
No flexibility whatsoever in work schedule, working from home, etc. Literally before Covid, working from home was not ok and you'd be majorly shamed for doing it. All throughout Covid, the president was chomping at the bit to get people back into the office because he thinks people who aren't in the office aren't working. computers are old and crappy and slow PTO is a joke Pay is a joke They promise bonuses, they never happen The owner/president is verbally abusive to employees, and several people quit because of this They say they want to change to become more modern but then vehemently oppose any type of change Super cliquey, and the clique likes to pretend that they aren't cliquey and get offended when they are told that they are, but they are. It's unprofessional and honestly pathetic. There is no diversity at this agency, and no push to be diverse, diversity isn't valued at all.
Pros
I had a positive experience and was able to advance my career and meet excellent people.
Cons
As with any smaller agency, you end up wearing a lot of hats. Some might find this to be a bad thing, but for me, it was not.
Pros
A few very nice and talented people. Snacks, drinks, and parties if that's what you care about.
Cons
Management is clueless about who is pulling their weight. The owners pretend to be your friend, but don't do the hard work of solving problems. They just move on to the next shiny new toy. Departments are a bunch of cliques.
Pros
Genuinely none. Everyone hated it.
Cons
Poor morale due to toxic leadership. The President lacked vision, direction, people skills and requires employees to exhaust him. He frequently and openly discussed firing people - with or without merit for doing so - and fostered an overall terrible culture.
