Pros

It was a good company to start with. The leadership team in the US is good and the founders are really smart.

Cons

1. The current MD of india is narcissist. 2. He wants to get complete control of engineering, sales, HR, CSM and every other department at Sense. 3. There is no fairness in the Indian entity. Brings his former collegues to the company. Once they join, the will be given a lot of visibility for their work and will be promoted much faster than others. 4. He is extremely manipulative. He feels that there is a separate set of rules for him. One example is there are limited parking slots in the building. When asked he always says that the employees should come early(not sure how it will solve but still) and its on first come first serve. However, the funny part is he has a parking reserved for him. 5. Lots of people are just waiting for the economy to rebound. They will jump the ship at the first opportunity.

Pros

I joined Sense because it seemed like a really good company with great culture. They offer competitive pay as well. Friendly people. Transparent executive leadership. Additional wellness days off.

Cons

Within 6 months I understood that the role that was offered to me and the work I was doing didn’t match. I was not even given any formal feedback or performance review in one whole year. Culture for US employees is better. India office is being run like an IT company and not a startup. Moreover there’s always this sense of US vs India and it did not feel like one company. US people have unlimited PTO, permanent WFH. Whereas in India it is limited leaves, work from office (hybrid) Why this disparity? They told us company is healthy and has a good runway and next month they did sudden layoffs. No matter how much good work you do here, it won’t matter- you have to be in the US to be valued and promoted.
