Pros

A great place to cut your teeth as a young salesperson, where good money can be earned. Well looked after with SAP benefits

Cons

Elitist and pretentious leadership that care about their own progression and self promotion. Minimal training. Poor communication between leaders and a real disconnect with front line sales staff. Paid well below industry average despite YoY growth. Poor culture. Lack of diversity

Pros

SAP is very supportive of their employees on multiple levels. The benefits are outstanding and the team dynamic was fun to work in. SAP also pays very competitively to industry standards and is very careful not to discriminate based upon sex, religion, national origin, etc.. SAP provides tremendous opportunities for learning and advancement.

Cons

The largest con that I faced was for client facing rules and 85% utilization rate. If you do the math on a 40 hour work week that’s about 36 hours of the week. The challenge is that they also want you to do additional training. There’s internal meetings and administrative tasks that don’t count toward that utilization number so unless you were willing to work 50+ hours a week you can’t meet that number. At least you can’t meet that number if you do the other expectations as well. Another con just recently experienced was the return to OFFICE mandate even if you were hired for a fully remote roll. There was an expectation that you had to be at an office a minimum of three days a week granted that there were exceptions to that rule, but there are also reasons that some people work better from home.

Pros

Company promotes from within. If you shine in the first 12 months, your opportunity for promotion will be there. As an SDR, it’s a grind, every day you’ll be pushed to overcome obstacles, but all well worth it. Training is included, sales tools are plentiful, and the marketing is there too.

Cons

As an SDR, the goal is to set as many Executive Overviews for your designated Account Executive’s. Every day, this is your goal, every month; same. It can get tiring, stressful, and hard to overcome reflex responses, brush offs, or objections from prospects. Especially after calling the same prospects multiple times. It’s a numbers game.
