Pros

Good colleagues in entry level jobs saluch as supervisors, assistants and assistant managers

Cons

District Managers such as LB and K would hire specific girls because they were "hot" Even though I am a guy, the management side of the company felt like a grubby, sleazy boys club. The shops were dirty as they refused to employ cleaners or allocate time to clean. Air conditioning was never properly serviced and filthy. Managers were treated with no respect, demoted or moved to other stores if they fell short of impressing the DM. Pay was rubbish and no full time contracts were ever given, even if you worked full time hours. No overtime pay rate either and disciplinary threats if you are genuinely ill. The District managers would talk about Theo (company owner) as if he was a god 😂 it was so pathetic. Glad to be gone.... Such a waste of life.

Pros

Some people are good people to get to know and work with. Good location. Other than that no real pros

Cons

- Lack of basic employee rights - I couldn't even book annual leave when I wanted it. It had to be on their terms and when they wanted you to be off. - always on their terms - do not care about employees. - Extreme lack of flexibility. - Lack of leadership/direction - too much micro management - Very poor work-life balance. - senior management very poor and tunnel visioned. Overall a very toxic culture and I would advise anyone and everyone to avoid working there. Worst place I have worked. I quit without having another job lined up that is how bad it was and I am much happier now for it as well.

Pros

If i put any pros here, id be lying.

Cons

Theo basically wants the people at the bottom to struggle by doing major cuts to the company and not allowing managers to hire, so we have to take the brunt of that, which has affect many of the staff's physical and mental health. Next is rubbish pay, compared to other retail places, they make you do a million things which doesn't match up to the pay grade, poor management who are unprofessional, a contract that leaves many workers out of pay if they happen to be sick or have to be off work, no work safety as there are countless shoplifters and somehow we have to protect the shop, I dealt with a borderline racist assistant manager who accused me of shoplifting when he lost an item(forgetting that we actually have a shoplifting crisis). I could go on and on, but this is not a job you should take if you need to raise a family, or better yet if you actually want to develop your career and become someone in this world.
