Recent fear-based culture

Pros

Great health, dental, vision, and gym. Matching 401k is very generous. Employees are kind, knowledgeable, work well in teams and help each other. Concerned about the future.

Cons

Leadership is lost and has created a toxic, fear-based work environment with recent firings of senior, highly experienced and influential staff and the threat of more firings. The changes and direction of leadership is unexplained. "Everyone is replaceable and if you don’t like it please leave.”

Pros

Many great people working there that have tried to make a difference, and they still have some very capable scientists, but many of their best are gone.

Cons

Wow, this could go on for awhile. Bottom line is that the senior management id totally inept. The do not understand the business, customers, products, and they think they can achieve their goals by strong-arming the employees. This place has turned away from a proactive friendly and responsive culture to one of fear and incompetence. It is sad to see how a few people could drag this organization down so effectively. Too bad the BOD won't act on what they KNOW are problems.

Right concept, wrong leadership team

Pros

Employee ownership, excellent benefits, fitness center, tons of great things done for employees. Many truly great employees.

Cons

The leadership team is incompetent and corrupt besides maybe 2. The former cfo, now vp of Europe and potentially the new director of marketing, but it's too soon to tell for him. Middle managers are paralyzed by poor communication and indecision. There are truly corrupt things that happen the the LT covers up, but with the right set of leaders this company could be unstoppable.
