Pros

The culture is spirited and soulful. Privately owned with the same 3 partners that founded the company back in 2012. Management has a proven foresight for driving the company in the right direction. Communication across departments is easy and friendly. Business casual and down to earth office environment. Also embracing the remote work movement. The Regpack platform has achieved a sweet product market fit making it easy to sell. The development team works tirelessly to keep the platform state of the art without sacrificing its simplicity. Today is a great time to join this company. The hard and vulnerable start up days are over. Safe and certain growth lies ahead.

Cons

Base salary should be more competitive as a California resident but the commission structure is opportunistic for a successful salesperson. You have to earn your keep.

Pros

Regpack is really building an innovative product. It is based on some real advance reach the founder did in his PhD. The application does not have any constants in it which makes the challenges all that bigger. The great part is that we have a really high coding standard, we work together as a team to find the best solutions and we also have a lot of fun. A hour without at least 2 jokes is a bad one :-)

Cons

It's a startup, so nothing is really structured, we need to build our own bridges and basically come up with all the solutions. Don't know if it is a pro or a con depends how you look at it. We have a few releases that we needed to work late, but as we are growing we are getting better and in the last release we all went home at 5pm. It was cool to see how we managed to get the process nailed in a way that was good for all of us.

Pros

"I don't work there anymore" is the first pro that came to mind. They were somewhat laidback and did not micromanage, I will give them that. The founder is Israeli and therefore believes in free healthcare, so the benefits were great. It was a nice lesson on politics and not trusting HR or leadership to a fault, if at all. Despite weird leadership and an overall disappointing company culture, the sales team was pretty cool and I appreciated working with a few pleasant people from other departments. I disliked the leadership and the culture, not every individual.

Cons

Leadership was very toxic. The founder was extremely arrogant and rude, Those who he liked tried to make a joke of it while occasionally joining those who he wasn't particularly fond of in walking on eggshells in their comments and behavior. The VP of Business Development, while a solid sales person on an individual level, was considered incompetent and insecure by anyone who cared to share an opinion. To open meetings, he often talked more about how he spent his inflated salary over the weekend with his well-to-do circle of friends and liked to play mind games in the department rather than simply helping his team make more money. How about you teach your very high potential sales team how to close even more deals and not get stumped on simple obstacles instead of watching me do it then regurgitating what I said a couple meetings later like you just discovered fire in front of cavemen. The VP blatantly took credit for and/or tried to replicate my hard work (and failed),. VP once made a false report to the founder, who was loyal to him despite HR having shared with me that the VP was the main reason they couldn't find worthy investors. I would never work there again, nor would I advise anyone who values career growth, good leadership, healthy company culture, or self-respect to do so either. At least not in sales.
