Pros

- Small - Everyone know eachother by their first names - Can possibly learn Chinese from your co-workers

Cons

- Their HQ is in China with Chinese government funding. - The owners are one of the worst penny pinchers you will meet in your life time. - They cut corners in every opportunity. Family owned means nepotism at it’s finest.

This reviewer is a former employee (not current) that has made fake accounts to post negative, racist reviews about RayBiotech in the past. While Glassdoor has removed the most racist of these reviews this individual persists in periodically posting negative reviews where race is a major theme. We make no apology for the diversity of our company. We have many individuals from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Race will in no way impact our choices in who we hire. RayBiotech strives to create a positive work environment for all its employees. We support employees as they work to further their careers both inside RayBiotech and in other pursuits (writing letters in support of their applications to graduate school, medical school, and other endeavors). If you are interested in learning what RayBiotech is truly about, apply for a position and interview with us to see first hand the values of our company.

Pros

You get an hour break. 11-2. You choose. However, actually take the full hour cause they take it out of your paycheck regardless if you take less than that, no execptions. No time card. Just you hoping the HR (who uses 2012 W-4 forms) approves your hours you write down somewhere. Good food nearby.

Cons

Not a single manager knew what to do. They will try to go up to you and say basic stuff like "make sure you label stuff." But won't ever teach you how to do production, and get upset if you ask. And don't call them out if their data is wrong, because they alter research data and say you're ignorant. They also don't know where anything is because it's so disorganized. Also, the Chinese will talk bad about you. It's funny if you know Chinese and they think you don't. Executives will say to not wear headphones and wear close toe shoes, but they listen to music and walk around in stilletos. No biohazard trash, just throw your flammables and biohazards in the regular trash they said. Only 3 bathroom stalls FOR THE WHOLE BUILDING. They will be a baby about shared equipment and they get really possessive over them. They won't use the equipment but tell you it's occupied. You need nitrile gloves? Nope. Only cheap food grade latex for covid testing kits. Just hope you land a nice manager and you'll be fine.

RayBiotech would like to address this review as it is full of multiple falsehoods. RayBiotech is an ISO 13485 facility that is audited by external companies on a regular basis. As such there are training programs in place for employees and training records for these programs are maintained. RayBiotech kits are used worldwide on a daily basis, so any alteration of data would quickly be discovered by customers. With less than a 1% complaint rate for RayBiotech products, this claim of faking data does not stand up to real world inspection. Safety is also a priority at RayBiotech therefore it is true headphones are not allowed in the lab and closed toed shoes are required for lab work. Business casual attire is allowed for front office employees. Biohazards and flammables are disposed of appropriately and RayBiotech is contracted with SteriCycle for their removal. There are 3 men’s bathrooms and 3 women’s bathrooms in the facility and these bathrooms contain multiple stalls. There are signup schedules for equipment needed by multiple groups. Nitrile gloves are the main type of gloves used in the lab. Latex is only used when preferred by the researcher or if required for safety. Common equipment purchased by RayBiotech is normally name brand purchased through a distributor such as ThermoFisher Scientific. Some equipment is only produced by individual manufacturers, but purchase of that type of equipment is rare. Management always flies coach.
