Pros

Good experience for graduates and those that are provided the opportunity to travel for a minimum amount of time.

Cons

1. It is who you know, not what you know that gets success at Randox. 2. If certain Senior Managers take a dislike to you it becomes personal not professional 3. Severe lack of product knowledge in the majority of sales teams 4. Let go of a lot of knowledgeable and experienced people over the years, mainly due to them being more knowledgeable than their managers or exposing their ineptness 5.. Totally paranoid senior management team 6. Micro management taken too far 7. Far to many meetings about meetings 8. More concerned about fancy presentations than the actual substance of what is going on at ground level in the various departments. 9. If someone steps out of line, all get tarred with the same brush. 10. Some get sick pay, some don't 11. No pay or pay rise structure 12. A wandering senior manager who can disappear for months, no doubt still being paid quite well. 13. Putting staff members into management positions, with a sever lack of product knowledge or management skills 14.. A company run on the blame game, more concerned about finding out who caused a problem/mistake as to how can this be rectified. 15. .Reliant too much on money from the government. 16..Keep reintroducing Biochip technology that is nearly 20 years old as now as new. 17. They cannot sit still on their management,/product group teams, always changing and therefore confusing staff and customers

Pros

None (You will swiftly learn that any benefits aren't really worth it)

Cons

Management Will work against you more than attempting to help. No support in building yourself up unless there is a immediate benefit to the company. Bringing issues to management was wildly considered to be a waste of time. On two occasions seen the person raising serious issues being named in front of the person at fault and then left to get punished. Pay At the bottom end of the scale and very difficult to gain a raise. No bonus in the entire department over 2 years. No Overtime Repeatedly pushed into position where overtime of 4-8 hours was needed and not paid for the Overtime. Limited Flexi-time Flexi-time is capped at 2 hours per month. Anything extra worked over 2 hours is lost as unpaid labour. No/very little Internal movement No real opportunities for movement (sideways or upwards) unless a previous member had quit and they needed a step in quickly. Previous attempts made by peers were swiftly made clear to not be under consideration as they would have to replace you. Aseptic/Sterility The entire facility would be shut down by a surprise micro audit. Coldroom airflow is riddled with black mold spores and pumps it out over the stock. Several times staff are drafted in for 'deep cleans' of all stock and benches using heavy cleaning agents. Stock was lifted out of old, damp, mold covered cardboard boxes and placed in new cardboard boxes without sufficient separation resulting in the new boxes getting covered in spores. Recent documentary about cross-contamination, lack of sufficient personnel protection with human samples at the Covid testing in Antrim is rather spot on. Healthcare Randox Teoranta now have healthcare as of 2019 but it should be noted that the only reason this came about was that staff in the facility wrote/signed a letter to the CEO listign out several serious concerns with the lack of healthcare for staff being a prime issue. Contract change On one occasion they sent a email to staff where by opening it, you agreed to a change to your contract without having yet read the change. Holidays You have most holidays already pre-assigned to public holidays and 2 weeks at the end of August. This leaves staff with 7 days that they can choose when to take throughout the year.

Great for a graduate to gain industry experience

Pros

- Great experience to add to CV if you are a graduate. - Lovely people to work with, everyone is genuine and friendly (Dungloe location) - I have highlighted alot of cons below but I would recommend a graduate or someone who is local to work here.

Cons

- Location is too remote. Randox is located in the middle of nowhere, having to driving an hour to closet town if you want to do anything. - Lack of progression. Even if you have a lot of industry experience and work great in your department, any advancement in your career is hindered by your qualifications (i.e lack of a PHD), and whether management like you personally or not. - No sick days, pension or maternity pay - No benefits at all really! The only benefit is that you can take a maximum of 2hours flexi time per month but even if you have worked 5hours extra, only 2 hours are permitted to be taken. - Clock in and out system is too strict. - Working hours are 40hours a week where you start 20minutes early and finish 20minutes later (8.40am-5.20pm) to account for your 40minute unpaid break. - No structure for salary progression or appraisals. - Travel outside of working hours is not paid. - Tend to have a 1 or 2 year workforce turn around.
