Pros

RUN. In fact, you should SPRINT as fast as you can.

Cons

Where do I even begin? Often time’s it is either the people within the company who are “encouraged” to write these reviews or it’s the disgruntled employees. I would like to say I fall somewhere in between. I would say for most life starts out as great for everyone at Quantgene. The company is painted as a young, full of energy, entrepreneurial spirited, work hard/play hard atmosphere. For some you will start off as a shining star, your ideas are looked highly upon, you’re riding around in the CEO’s mustang with the top down in sunny Santa Monica; while others may have to prove themselves a bit more, but still nothing out of the ordinary yet. I would say within a small time-frame (for some as quickly as 2 weeks, for others months, and a rare few a year plus) that quickly changes. As soon as you know enough about the company to question their validity and any sort of product (or lack thereof) you are basically no longer welcome. Any questions, ideas, thoughts, or really just your presence is no longer welcome and any communication will fall on deaf ears. If you do enough research you will find that the turnover is EXTREMELY high – voluntary and involuntary. They have no problem and really no consideration for letting people go. If you do enough research you will find you will find that they have been going after funding for a significant amount of time with minimal return. If you do enough research you will find that they make a lot of the impressive claims that are very loosely tied to what they are claiming. If you do enough research you will find you will find that they have more marketing employees over any other type of employee who will actually bring a product to fruition. If you do enough research you will find that they have been around for years, and still no product. So, basically if you do enough research you should find yourself working for a different company.

Pros

CEO hires very attractive, charismatic young people for you to work with. Their idealism in uplifting until he shatters them. The office space is very hip.

Cons

You’ll quickly see through the CEO’s Narcissism and realize the company is a marketing fiction based on the thinnest possible science. What little they are able to do is already done better and cheaper by their competitors. The company is just a tool for the CEO to get attention and surround himself with the cool, attractive kids he never had access to before getting investor money. If it weren’t for COVID they’d be bankrupt, which is ironic because the CEO believed COVID was mass hysteria until he realized he could profit off it.

Pros

Ambitious and alluring narrative. Dynamic startup life.

Cons

Working here has been deeply disappointing due to the CEO's unethical treatment of staff and autocratic leadership style. There's a total lack of respect flowing from the top down, making employees feel undervalued and disrespected. The CEO constantly shifts directions on a whim, leaving everyone scrambling to keep up instead of allowing a focused approach to our tasks. Instead of addressing the core issue of product-market fit, there’s a misguided emphasis on marketing to solve everything. This approach is not only ineffective but highlights the leadership's short-sightedness. In summary, the company is floundering due to the CEO’s disrespectful, erratic leadership and lack of clear, strategic focus. It’s an exhausting, unrewarding environment where employee well-being is not a priority.
