Pros
I'm trying to be fair, but I honestly can't think of any.
Cons
1st of all, you should take these positive reviews with a grain of salt, ProPlate made an incentive to leave positive reviews after former employees left poor reviews. Unfortunately the company is family owned and this is a recipe for disaster. The CEO, VP, and former VP are all related (father, mother, son). It's a trifecta that runs the company. If you get on one of their bad sides; watch out. The family dynamic is strange. In company wide meetings or team meetings the dynamic is often awkward and uncomfortable. You cannot vent about any of them to the other. Since they will clearly mention it to each other in private. There is no objective checks and balances at the top, since again, it's family owned. Turnover is unfortunately very high. Lots of good people quit or get fired. It makes it challenging to progress as a company. Rumors of the next hire/fire are always on the table. It's hard to read management. They will smile to your face but talk about letting you go behind your back. Firing happens abruptly and without warning. Many employees will gossip with you, then gossip about you. You never know who is on your side if you take one. Alcohol and other substances are used by multiple high ranking employees on the job or in the parking lot. Everyone has a different direction for the company. The CEO is on the edge of retirement and wants to go out with a bang. Realizing revenue was stagnant in his final years he wants to grow revenue quickly and sell for a large profit. Watch out. Growing pains are heavy and the pressure to grow is high. Promotions are slim, PTO is small, pay is under market value, and raises rarely happen. Surface level their intentions can be good, they want a family oriented company, but pride, favoritism, and greed (along with a lack of self reflection within management) leads to their downfall. Also the facility isn't very nice. It's in an odd place of Anoka inside a very old building. It doesn't smell very good inside, and everything is quite old. The adjacent buildings are unsettling at best. Not an inspiring place to be 40+ hours a week. If you are salaried, you are expected to work long hours, although it depends on your manager. Take note of that before it's too late. Once you are stigmatized it's tricky to remove that label. If you do work there. Just be cautious who you become friends with and what you say. I'd suggest you keep to yourself and keep everyone happy if you can.
