Hard Work & Great Culture

Pros

Leadership - I believe a huge part of the success culture stems from the CEO. Of course it is also about the team. There are great and motivated employees, but there's a system with the company values that is set in place which enables us to align with the direction of our leader's vision quickly, and also improve our performance. We have daily huddles that helps the team understand where everyone is and keeps everyone alert. We have continuous training and learning - We get a ton of training and resources. It is fun and rewarding. There's encouragement in place for those who want to develop their competencies or gain more knowledge. The training is for everyone, even older employees whose been here for years. Everyone benefits from the development programs. The fun 'stuff' - You get wellness perks (gym memberships, insurance), random gifts, team activities, weekend brunches and celebrations, anniversaries, and 'just because' gifts, especially for going above and beyond. That is my favorite thing, to be appreciated and acknowledged :)

Cons

Commute is tough. I've tried different routes, so far I still hit traffic. That's LA for you. I still would take the extra drive because I love the company and the neighborhood is really nice. There's zumba and yoga across the street which was one of the gifts I got for an idea to help the team be more efficient.

Pros

What I like. Fun atmosphere, great people, shared lunches with the team. Lots of fun challenges and great moments. I have been working here for over 8 years. Great place to grow as an individual. Great benefits.. lots of fun times. Management cares about employees but they also help you grow by giving worthy goals.

Cons

I have seen people come and go, mostly because they don’t like to work. I personally had to carry the load for many of those slackers. The problem with management is they give people a chance when some shouldn’t have been hired at all. Mostly those people say anything to get hired because they like to work in nicer offices and like the high-end atmosphere, but no matter how much they are told that this will be work, some can't manage even their own regular work. Then they leave and say bad things about the company which I sadly read. While I understand how someone that was let go can be vindictive and spew hateful comments, I think people should take more responsibility for their actions if they don't do their jobs.

Pros

After seeing these bad reviews, I waited until I had a little more time to inspect PLJ and what they’re all about. After about 3 months, the “honeymoon phase” is over and I’m comfortable saying my opinion. I don’t know where the bad reviews are coming from. Yes, you have to perform and not slack… but isn’t that a reasonable expectation? You are getting paid to work. I’ve gotten every promise given to me. Competitive pay, good bonus program and good benefits – with more incentives to come once I’m on my official 91st day (after probationary period). Since the (almost) three months I’ve been here, I’ve gotten training from everyone. If I encounter any problem, the entire team is there supporting and motivating me…everyone from the owners to my manager to my co-workers. I’ve always felt respected and valued for the results I’ve given. It’s nice to be noticed for doing great work rather than being treated equally next to someone who’s barely doing anything. It encourages me to do even better everyday. And I’ve gone to other training sessions and must say, the training from the CEO is top-tier. It’s encouraging to gain experience and get guidance at that caliber.

Cons

The company culture is built on high achievers. If you’re doing average work, you’ll get noticed. If you’re socializing instead of working, you’ll get noticed. (Management doesn’t even have to observe it. The team itself will report it. No one here likes being distracted from their work.) This environment is best for those who are looking for more than just a regular job.
