Pros
Openwave has had a huge turnaround since April 2014 with a whole new E-staff including new President and CEO Joe Campbell. Joe is extremely transparent about the state of the business and it seems that everyone in the company is on-board with the plan. It's true that culture was a problem in the past, but there have been great strides to invest in the employees and create career paths with courses inside and outside the company being made available. OWM is also making a conscious effort to recruit the right resources in the right places.
Cons
There are some days that do require longer hours, it's the nature of working for a Global company, but if you want good experience, this is the place to get it.

Across all the departments employees got relatively high salaries. One of the benefits is that many people had the option to telecommute but that left the office feeling deserted. Colleagues were overall friendly when they were around the office. This company hires a lot of contractors, in and out of the country.
Cons
There is no real culture at this company. It seems like just a faceless corporation, though the employees all had their own distinct and fun personalities. Very high turnover, including the CEO role. Things were very disorganized which created an environment of chaotic crisis. When an attempt was made to fix this, one employee who had been at the company for years mentioned "...that's the culture here. This is how things always operated". Openwave operated like a startup but it definitely was not a startup. It was like dealing with a 50 year old adult that was still in high school.
