Cons

The systems are complicated and takes a long to get things moving. There are silos within the developer teams.

Pros

50% Samsung Discount, that’s about it

Cons

Horrible management that will watch, time and evaluate every single thing you do. Constantly felt like someone was breathing down my neck. Pay rates are horrible and the company has no plans to increase them. You’d need to work crazy hours just to make any sort of reasonable bank. Area Managers and those above just simply don’t care about the employees and will always side with the Store Managers, even if they’re in the wrong. It’s like a huge Cult of Sarah Hunter and her ideologies. No celebration of employee’s achievements, only business achievements. Unrealistic workloads placed on all team members. Team members told not to be friends and have conversations and just to work. No real training provided that would help with the job, thrown into the deep-end. Manager not respectful of personal/off-the-clock time and expects you to complete eLearnings that don’t relate to your role, just saying Oh look at Officeworks by 2025 we want to double the size of our cult. No opportunity for growth within the business whatsoever. Managers come from other companies and very rarely work their way up internally. Might be a good job while you’re 16-17, but not much longer after.

Pros

I don't need 5 words to say there are no pros.

Cons

Everything about it is a con, the job is quite literally a con. Avoid this position and company unless you enjoy working 200% full-time hours almost constantly as a result of astonishing levels of incompetence at a area and state level. If that somehow sounds good, expect to work a rotating roster that never ends, random weekends, randomly needing to stay 12 or more hours because you're told NOT to replace sick team members as its saves on wages to simply have their salary team endlessly cover and put in more and more work until they either resign or have a mental breakdown, at which point you will only be ignored and mocked, again due to the incredible uselessness and out of touch area and state managers.
