From upwards, now to downwards trajectory
Pros
- It's all about people: colleagues are very easy, exciting and excellent to work with - HR's employee engagement is improving - Canteen is world-class and lunch is free - Annual raise (if you "perform" - more on that later) - Performance bonus - before was 14th month pay (again, if you "perform")
Cons
- POLITICS; 'FAKENESS' at the top - system only rewards top management - New executive/top management Manila cannot walk the talk; they are clearly not equipped for the digital transformation that is happening in the industry - New executive/top management Manila says this thing but does another thing, tends to sugarcoat and does management speak all the time - cannot communicate clearly and straight to the point; always flip flops, no conviction - no training, just all motivational seminars that pass as leadership training - no career planning - culture is immature - people are often reprimanded for going to Starbucks on breaks because it makes them unproductive - some shared services teams/departments are not well appreciated, mostly viewed as a cost center, without empowerment; a co-manager is in hot water because one executive manager did not like how my co-manager speaks - KPI's are a joke; not objective, not clear, not straightforward, too much lawyering - so many legal gray areas in terms of compensation; performance bonus was usually 100% of a month's salary now it's scaled down depending on you good you lawyer your supposed performance, not to mention the monthly rice subsidy and undeclared dollar allowances
