Pros

Pet-friendly environment, furry friends walking around the office.

The overall pays and package are far below the market standard, $20k+ is rare in the office, annual leave is consumed on a pro-rata basis (means you can only consume the accumulated AL, overspent will be counted as unpaid leave). The medical benefit is pathetically a joke, you can enjoy up to HK$1,000 “reimbursable medical expenses” per year, while they will do clawback if you didn’t work a complete year. Your monthly salary is divided into 2 parts, basic salary + performance bonus, but there are no objective-based measuring system to determine the actual payout of the “performance bonus”, it is solely subject to the boss’s opinion. No regular salary review session, all of which are discretionary and added into your performance bonus instead of basic salary. The boss loves micromanaging, she wants know every detail in every second during your company hours, and you also need to do clocks-in/out when you come-in and get off from work, plus go out for and get back from lunch. There’s no flexible work arrangement, the office hours are based on boss’s personal arrangement and preference.
