Pros

Some of the people are Gr8t.

Cons

Suppressed salaries. Foreign staffing arrangement in an American Company with very low diversity often utilizing overworked single contributors (older, contractors) used to accelerate the organization while paying bottom dollar to get at top skills. Trying to be a big company in process, but understaffed to implement and achieve it. Very intolerant of failure, fail fast is not a philosophy.

Pros

Good team and good friends

Cons

Matson talks about valuing people, but its promotion culture often says the opposite. Career growth can feel almost impossible unless you are willing to wait endlessly, navigate internal politics, or benefit from timing that has nothing to do with merit. Some promotions appear to happen not because someone is exceptional, but because they have been sitting in the same role for so long that the company eventually has to move them. It is a deeply discouraging environment for anyone who believes performance should matter.
