Pros

View from my window, salary is paid regularly. Some nice people, regardless of thei professional skills.

Cons

Possibly the lowest level of management for a new software company that I have seen: level and people management. Managers are just focused on their personal career and headcount. The more people, the more power. It is one of these companies that poorly cares of its people and teams, even less about their products. A lot of politics being a subsidary of Daimler and they already took the habit to have organisational changes yearly, getting more strong army structure similar to daimler. If you want to see how sw was done in the 90s, control, power games, middle management and all its related inefficiencies, this is the place to be. The engineering leads that manage the people are at very poor level, incompetent wanna be managers, conflicts are daily events job. Product owners have no product and are jira tool accountants. Nobody focuses on customers or solutions or technology and when there are problems the command and control is straightned in the company structure. Too many different ways of thinking among managers, people doing the real work and conflicts. Infrastructure and code is pretty far from the state of art and the incompetent leads hire more and more incompetent people. I joined with the false promise that this company was created to change and improve how daimler makes software, I am now struggling by the poor skills of its management, politics, the horrible tech level and mindset of the 9-5 unskilled people or wanna-be-managers. The best ones are staying short and most have already left. In general a company that does not deliver value and does not care about it, their survival is linked to making happy daimler managers. They will survive as long as daimler has money to waste, if the company had to live of the products they have (not) delivered to the market, it would be already broke. If you care about your job, and I do, the working hours can be very long as you need to fix lots of problems that nobody else care. If you raise a problem you become the problem and you are also responsible to fix it. I am leaving soon, I already have other options and sadly it was a professional waste of time. HR is useless and very burocratic... last year the company tried to create a culture and values but it started from the teams and hr did not even participate. No surprise that nobody cares about the values anymore. Salaries are below many others sw companies in berlin (I have 3 other offers, also from startup, all higher), quite much lower of colleagues doing the same job in daimler. If you want to improve, if you want to see 2020 management, if you like working agile or good sw product creation, if you look for a company that cares about tech and invest in your growth... maybe you want to consider other options.

It is sad to read that you didn’t feel supported by HR. Pros

Hip office... Nothing more unfortunately. It's possible to learn Russian here

Cons

Lot of people who shouldn't write software, mostly outsourced from "Luxoft", Scrum Masters acting like low-level managers, Job is mostly about copying old code that they bought from solution provider into new git repository.

Pros

Technology and Product might be good, but it's hard to belive they can actually delive with such bad management.

Cons

The hipster management confirm its incompetency day by day. The CEO is way far from the people that it seems he does not care if there is a product built there. Incompetent middle management with very poor management skills and even less software background. Work in this company is totally waste of time. Nothing to learn, no career development and no product to be proud of. The relationship with Daimler and subcontractor is quite ambiguous. HR department is lazy, useless and touchy, none can give feedback on the HR department. They have company values that none belive. They make periodical company survey which shows how bad is the maangement and zero action are taken

Thank you for your sincere feedback! At MBition we attach great importance to an open and trust-based exchange. We are sorry to read that you feel there are only few growth opportunities. We have several programs aiming at the career development (for example talents on the fast lane). In our yearly performance reviews growth opportunities are taken into consideration and discussed in detail. Before this happens, performance is evaluated over an appropriate period of time and feedback interviews are held to develop skills. There are several ways to share your feedback. In our 360° performance reviews you can evaluate your manager. Our CEO has a special coffee break and a channel dedicated to your suggestions. As you mentioned, we make periodical company surveys to assess employee satisfaction and identify areas of improvement. In fact, several actions were taken and communicated in the Town Hall meeting or through our newsletter. We regret that you do not feel supported by HR. We take your feedback very seriously and would really appreciate it if we could talk to you again personally about your experience. Either use our several chat systems or send us an e-mail to mbox-mbition-hr@daimler.com or drop by our office for a coffee.
