Pros

- Some team members and managers are genuinely exceptional - Generous paid time off - Remote friendly

Cons

- Two rounds of layoffs occurred within a short timeframe despite management assurances - The interview process is long and demanding, yet leadership may still terminate individuals months later - Despite reduced headcounts, directors and managers are expected to maintain the same workload - There's a lack of clear product vision and leadership direction - Leadership often takes the backseat - Teams experience significant friction due to leadership defending siloes rather than improving collaboration - The C-Suite is out of touch with employees' experiences and concerns - Despite low morale, the focus remains on DEI surveys rather than addressing fundamental issues - Lengthy IT approval processes and turnaround times hinder productivity - Some teams produce subpar work due to outsourcing, with leadership failing to hold them accountable

We appreciate your detailed feedback and the time you've taken to share your thoughts about your experience at Loopio. Your feedback is valuable to us as we strive to improve and make Loopio a better place to work. I’m glad to see that some of our talented Loopers have made a positive impact on your experience here. We acknowledge the frustration and disappointment stemming from the layoffs. The decision to part ways with some of our team members was a tough yet necessary business decision for us, as leaders, to make, but I can appreciate that it was much harder on all impacted Loopers, and their colleagues who remained behind. Your feedback about a disconnect between the C-Suite and employees is something we take seriously. Improving this connection is a focal point for us in FY24. If you were present at Base Camp, you may have heard about our "How We Work" initiative, focusing on Leadership & Decision-Making. We've taken your feedback to heart and are addressing this issue. Regarding the DEI surveys, we aim to hold ourselves accountable for fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. This remains a key part of our commitment to our employees, and something we believe is very important. However, we recognize the layoffs have affected morale, and we're sorry. We encourage you to contact your manager or People Operations for specific support. Again, thank you for your feedback. If you're a current Looper, we encourage you to share specific feedback through an AMA question or the Monthly Pulse engagement survey, or reach out to Zak directly.

Pros

- Remote with no chance of being forced into office - Some amazing, intelligent, highly motivated coworkers - Exceptional work life balance - Fair salary - Vacation and sick days are pooled together and can be used easily and as needed

Cons

- C suite has not once acknowledged their role in Loopio's struggles - Spent an exorbitant amount of money on an acquisition that left the company severely financially strained - 2 layoffs within 6 months. One round of layoffs made to allocate money to India. Meanwhile the leadership continues to claim that they're a "people first" company while making business first moves - Many privileges removed or reduced. For example, "mastery budget" slashed in half, 3/5 company long weekends removed, office has been permanently shuttered - 2.25% flat raises across the board (aka the whole company took a pay cut for 2024 since this doesn't meet nation-wide inflation). No variation for individual performance. Also promotions are frozen for the next quarter - All of the senior leadership on the HR/People team have departed - Many departures so far in 2024 from every department putting a strain on customer support and engineering departments - Leadership is willing to derail company roadmaps just to chase a single whale. No ability to retrospect or assess if a customer is actually right for the company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. It is great to see that you value our remote-first environment, as well as our PTO policies and benefits. And more importantly, it is great to see how much you value the intelligence and ambition of your fellow Loopers! I acknowledge that there have been many changes in the organization this year. We have had to make some very tough decisions that have impacted Loopers across the organization. Our market has changed dramatically over the last two years, with a turbulent economy and unprecedented technological disruption — and we've had to adapt accordingly. All of our decisions (e.g. reductions, reallocation) were made to set us up for long term success, and adapt to the changing needs of our market. That being said, in hindsight, there are things we could have done differently over the last two years, and I take full responsibility for all strategic decisions we have made as a business. We are continuing to learn and grow, and feedback from all Loopers is a big part of that. I am very proud of how far we've come as an organization, and the resilience that Loopers have shown. As we march forward, building trust and capacity is top of mind, which is why we've invested in two new leaders on the Executive team (CRO & CPO), as well as other leaders across the organization. We are also investing in developing new leadership frameworks to better align the experience of all Loopers. Please continue to share your feedback. We have many opportunities for this internally (e.g. AMAs, Pulse Surveys, Engagement Surveys, 1:1s) and I hope that you will continue to share your experience through these channels, or directly with myself, your manager or your dedicated People Partner. Thank you, -Zak

Pros

1. Decent Pay: The compensation is just good enough to keep employees around, which might be appealing for those in need of immediate job security. 2. Remote

Cons

1. Unexpected Layoffs: The company executed two rounds of layoffs within six months, with no forewarning, creating an environment of uncertainty and fear among employees. 2. Low Morale: The aftermath of the layoffs has left morale at an all-time low. Employees are demoralized and disillusioned. 3. Fake Culture: The once-promised vibrant culture has proven to be superficial, with team events feeling forced and an overall sense of mistrust prevailing. 4. Lack of Transparency: The corporate transparency is non-existent, leading to a disconnect between employees and management. 5. Poor Benefit Structure: Significant cuts in benefits, including reduced long weekends and a slashed mastery budget, have further demotivated the staff. 6. Ineffective Leadership: The C-suite, controlled by a Private Equity firm, seems disconnected from the needs of both the business and its employees, focusing on short-term cost-cutting rather than sustainable growth.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review, and sharing a comprehensive set of recommendations. I acknowledge how hard it's been over the last year, and I know that some of the decisions we've made have greatly impacted the morale and trust of the team. As CEO, this is not something that I take lightly. I’d like to address a few of your concerns and recommendations, and how they connect to the work we’re doing in 2024: On Transparency: We have always strived to be a hyper-transparent organization, but I realize that through the turbulence of 2023, we lost our rhythm. We have revamped our company-wide meetings to help address the needs of Loopers. The new twice-monthly format will have consistent updates on business performance, product roadmap, market insights, and our customers. On top of this, we will continue to lean into our Sprint Reviews, Product Roadmap meetings, and regular ‘Ask Me Anything’ events with the Senior Leadership Team. On Leadership: We have hired a new Chief Revenue Officer, and have also kicked off a search for a new senior executive which we announced this past week. We also have an intense focus this year on decision making frameworks and accountability. This all falls under our 4th objective of harmonizing how we work, and we are committed to driving a consistent leadership experience across the company. On Benefits: I acknowledge that we made some adjustments, and we understand the impact it has had on our team. We continue to offer 6 weeks of paid time off per year for North American employees, professional development support, health benefits, coordinated company-wide paid days off, mental health supports, RRSP matching in Canada, and more. I know changes are tough to adapt to, but I still believe firmly that our benefits are competitive and strong in this market. Thank you again for all of your feedback. If you’d like to dive into anything in more detail, I’d welcome a conversation, and would love to hear your ideas. Otherwise, please continue to share your feedback through our regular mediums, and we will continue to do our best to listen and evolve. I am committed to leading us forward into an exciting future, and I hope you will see the impact of all of the changes we are making. Thank you again for your hard work and contributions. -Zak Hemraj, CEO
