Lighthouse Has the Wrong Bus, Not the Wrong People on the Bus

Pros

There is nothing good about Lighthouse. "Pros" like the variety of snacks in the kitchen are not really "pros", just things management provides to reduce complaints by employees who would rather leave the building than eat cheese sticks and nuts to make it through 11 straight hours with no breaks.

Cons

This is the worst place I have worked in a 15-year career. You will be expected to work 60-70 hours per week while the company insists on, and continues to pay lip service to, its incredible "work-life balance". Lighthouse is only able to maintain this fantasy through practices that don't adequately reflect the number of hours employees log every week. This has led to serious retention problems, with many employees leaving within 3-6 months. The main issue is that Lighthouse was started by a core group of people who had previously worked together for many years, and thus enjoyed putting in long hours to build a company. This has created a culture in which new employees are viewed as having a poor work ethic when they treat the job as a job, and not a fun project undertaken by a group of friends. Many former employees left not because they worked so many hours, but rather because they continued to be perceived as lazy while putting in such high hours.

Pros

My direct managers and co-workers were all very pleasant to work with and the remote aspect is nice.

Cons

•Shaky finances. They can’t even seem to get payment or paid on time from clients. •Brought on a fancy CEO who had never worked in the eDiscovery industry. •Marketing & Sales team seems incapable of marketing the companies own products to make sales. •The companies future fakes its employees into thinking they’re a great company and that employees have a bright future and promotions along the way only to lay them off, despite good performance evaluations. •My department met its revenue targets and yet suffered the heaviest cuts (the RMA). •Leadership of my department seems more focused on rolling out new products that are even more obscure instead of focusing on helping get sales for our existing services. •A lot of virtue signaling in dept and overall company with not much to back it up. •From what I gather we are underpaid compared to competitors. •Company says that it wants to be industry leader but it can’t even plan for common place industry events like the sudden settlement of cases.
