Pros

I have the pleasure of working at LRQA, and I can confidently say it has been a transformative experience. One of the standout aspects of LRQA is the incredible team of colleague auditors. They are not only highly technically skilled but also deeply motivated to help both clients and fellow colleagues perform better. The collaborative spirit is palpable, fostering an atmosphere where teamwork and knowledge sharing are prioritized. LRQA truly sets itself apart from peers in standardizing delivery processes and controls, which enhances our overall effectiveness. This commitment to excellence ensures that we can provide consistent and reliable services to clients across the globe. The global approach of LRQA allows us to tap into a wealth of resources and expertise, making our work even more impactful. It is a great place to work for anyone with basic industry experience looking to let others benefit from their experience, it provides for a professional role and a autonomous experience. Auditing is fun and rewarding and LRQA provides for good enablement to do the work at a good level. In summary, working at LRQA is a rewarding experience enriched by talented colleagues, efficient processes, and a supportive environment.

Cons

auditors do need to be prepared to meet the demands of the clients who do expect a professional delivery each and every day, also it does require meeting the strict requirements as set by accreditors and scheme owners whilst balancing these with the client expectations

Thank you for your positive review and for your commitment to LRQA and our clients. You are right about the great colleagues we have at LRQA. The expertise and passion of our people is a large contributor in making LRQA a great place to work. Your comments will be passed on to members of the Assessment Leadership team to consider how we can stimulate auditors to expand their skills sets as you have suggested. Again, thank you for your review. It is greatly appreciated.

Pros

LRQA used to be an exemplary employer and a really good place to be, however, over time a lot of the good things disappeared. There used to be a good ‘family’ atmosphere, despite the size with all working together to beat the competition. That atmosphere has left the building. Top management seem to have forgotten the business’s most important asset, the employees who have invoiceable time and those who support them. Pay is always on time. Generally friendly people. Get to meet some fantastic clients, some on the forefront of technology. A different place most days, no boring office every day. Decent pension. Decent holidays, however, these need to be booked some months in advance.

Cons

In my opinion, appalling software, completely unfit for purpose and being ‘sticky taped together’ to try to make it work. Too much monitoring and measurement to enable and encourage micromanagement. Owned by venture capital, who appear not understand the business’s environment which leads to very significant pressure as they try to increase profitability (possibly beyond what is realistic for this type of business) Chaotic and ineffective planning system, with overworked planners. Inadequate car provision.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback and we are sorry to see you have left us after 9 years of service. We are glad to see that there were plenty of great parts when working for LRQA. Your advice to management is exactly right and we are doing many things to address the parts listed in your cons. We are undergoing a digital transformation and are very close to releasing some innovative software that will significantly improve the client and colleague experience, including improved planning. Micromanagement is not encouraged - this year we are focusing on the evolution of our culture. This includes empowering our people with high levels of accountability and a less parental approach. Our financial performance this year is strong and there are realistic plans for how the financial growth will be achieved. We are sorry to hear that you believe our car provision is inadequate. The car policy depends on the country, but as an example, in the UK we offer a handsome car allowance of £550 for eligible colleagues. There are so many positive things happening at LRQA and we've had several auditors return to us. We hope that after some of our improvements land, you decide to return to us too.

Thank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear you had a terrible experience. We have seen an increase in employee turnover from what was a very low turnover rate, although we pride ourselves on having a below industry average turnover rate we are seeking to understand why our colleagues are leaving us so that we continue improvement and respond to their feedback.
