Pros

You get to work from home, they pitch in a few bucks for your Internet costs. Instead of a Christmas party or bonus you get a gift card. And you get to clock in and out just like you did when you were in High School and had that part-time summer job.

Cons

As has been pointed out age discrimination is a very real thing. They have become super heavy on the management side and to this point have been firing workers left and right. Hard work and product knowledge mean little, and it is clear that the venture capital company that bought them a year ago is looking to cut costs so that it becomes attractive to sell off later.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Working remotely from home can be a positive experience for a lot of employees, but you are correct that it makes holiday celebrations more challenging. We are happy to announce our second annual all company retreat has been scheduled for next spring, where just like last year, we will spend time celebrating in person as a team. To address your comments about clocking in and out, all nonexempt hourly employees are required to clock in and clock out to ensure we pay you correctly, including overtime pay. The federal government sets guidelines about which roles should be classified as exempt or nonexempt but you are welcome to reach out to me if you have questions about how your role is classified. At KinderSystems we do not make any employment decisions based on age, and we’re proud of the diversity of our employee population. Over this last year we have focused on not only creating the framework to support our growth, but also on the employee experience. We have grown our leadership and management teams to ensure that all of our employees have the support and guidance they need to meet their goals. We have implemented a 401(k) with a company match, created a more generous PTO policy, and improved company health and wellness benefits. If you have additional concerns you are welcome to reach out to me directly at kbyers@kindersystems.com. Thanks, Kate Byers VP of People

Pros

No real pros I can think of.

Cons

As a Customer Service Specialist, you must meet metrics of 85%, or you will lose your position. You'll be micromanaged on how long you're not in the support queues. There are better companies out there. I wouldn't waste your time with this company.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Our metrics and training programs are based on industry-standard best-practices. We do have performance expectations in our Customer Success Department. We also have great training, ongoing coaching, and tools to ensure our teams are set up for success. Our Quality Control and Training Department reviews calls on a regular basis to provide feedback and coaching to our team, to ensure everyone has the right training to be successful. Our Customer Success Managers have regular one on one meetings with their employees to review feedback and performance metrics, and provide coaching . We also have online tools that our Customer Success teams use during calls where they can type in the customer’s question into a decision tree, and the tool will provide them with answers or troubleshooting steps. We welcome feedback on anything we can do to help our teams provide excellent support to our customers! We wish you luck in your next chapter. Thanks, Kate Byers VP of People

Pros

Back when it was still Controltec, it was a great place to work. Family atmosphere, people cared about each other, management listened.

Cons

One of the CEO's favorite lines is "how important it is to put money into a 401k before you feed your kids". Easy for you to say when you make 6 figures, but the staff that does the grunt work make $20 bucks an hour. Typical overpaid CEO, so out of touch with her staff.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We have had a lot of changes over the last year, one of which was to offer a 401(k) to all employees with a dollar for dollar company match up to 4%. We believe we offer a progressive and competitive compensation package, and we want to ensure employees are familiar with the retirement match as well as the financial education resources that are available as they plan for the future. Most of our employees work remotely, which means it can be more challenging to connect. To address these challenges we have monthly All-Hands calls to share business updates and celebrate work successes together, we rolled out an anonymous engagement survey to make sure we’re getting feedback from our employees, and we use Teams video calls to connect with each other. To address your feedback about HR, I apologize if you had an unanswered question and I invite you to reach out directly if you have additional questions or concerns to discuss at kbyers@kindersystems.com. We wish you the best of luck in your next chapter. Kate Byers VP of People
