Pros

The work is easy and the staff are generally quite fun to work with. There's not a lot can go wrong in work and even if something does go wrong there aren't serious consequences which creates a more relaxing environment. We get Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Stephens' Day off. Decent as a job when going through college. Rarely any problems when asking for days off.

Cons

Undesirable hours. Often left desperately looking for work to do to pass time. Everything is done as cheap as possible. Owners don't care for employees, only profits. e.g. door hinges broke during winter and doors were left propped open for over a month while the staff were left freezing even with their fleeces. Often understaffed at busy times putting staff under a lot of pressure and leaving customers unhappy. Manager incapable of taking responsibility. Managers seem almost afraid of their superiors. Supervisors left doing majority of managers duties. Supervisors and new staff not being properly trained and are unfit for their duties. Management often slack off and ignore rules like wearing hats in the shop and not using their phones in work while expecting general staff to work and follow the rules perfectly. Poorly cared for facilities. Will take advantage of staff any way they can e.g. trying to force staff into being paid fortnightly, trying to make staff paint, weed, and do other jobs not in their contracts, making staff go home earlier than they are scheduled to and threatening menial jobs when they refuse e.g. cleaning skirting boards, cleaning pick n mix and damages regardless of whether or not they've been done the day before and are still spotless. Managers doing rosters unfairly and avoiding giving themselves busy days like bank holidays when they are needed. Often low on stock because the manager doesn't check stock weekly to see if an order is needed, same situation can happen with change for tills.

Pros

If your strength is in sucking up the management, then this place is for you. One can literally does nothing so long he is in the good books of the management in power

Cons

Too many! 1) The 6 core values that the senior management preach, in fact are guilty displaying the exact opposite! How contemptuous! 2) Instead of looking for new business streams and opportunities, the senior management are fighting against each other since the longest time. Hence the business is always declining and reserves is eating away surely. 3) The HR is probably the worst I have ever seen - unscrupulous and devious are just an understatement 4) The attrition rate is up the roof every year, and you will be considered a veteran if you somehow survived for 3 years. 5) The company is removing all the business leaders and now are run by accountants and consultants who know nothing about the business. 6) The most important event of the company is to putting up performances during the Diamond Day or D&D to please the chairman and the senior management. Nobody cares about revenue or P&L.
