Pros

Phenomenal customers and lots of opportunities for animal husbandry and interaction

Cons

Illegal and illicit management practices, awful pay, unparalleled high turnover rate, substandard housing, dishonest hiring methodologies, unsafe working conditions, and a lack of appreciation, compassion, and basic human decency from the owner.

Pros

If you're lucky enough to learn anything from a volunteer trainer, take it. For some reason the owner would detour that and then run off the trainer. The horses, they need to be auctioned off to better homes.

Cons

Everything, there's a reason her adds are up 24/7. I busted my butt bucking full truck loads of hay and feed bags and she still stiffed me on my last check. Word on the island she has a history of this.

Pros

Great job if you like to stay busy! Unlike most ranch jobs working 6 days a week - Horseshu Ranch is a 5-day work week, which is nice. Owner strictly prohibits any drug use and minimal alcohol consumption, which I personally appreciated, but may not work for some people. Possibly the previous review I just read here.

Cons

Housing is not the best, (older trailers)- they are clean and functioning and everyone has their own trailer. Not shared living arrangement as most ranches offer. I did that at a Colorado guest ranch, and that was awful situation!
