I have worked in Software Development for 35 years and have worked in large and small companies. I retired from Hilton Software after 3+ years and I have been witness to changes and improvements both in the hiring and working areas. Hilton Software is a small company and displays great potential for growth and opportunity. There is a camaraderie among the employees. Management is committed to improving processes and supporting employees on both a professional and life style level. If you are willing to work hard, work diligently, work with integrity, then Hilton Software would be a good fit for you.
Cons
In every Software Development shop where I've worked, there are always deadlines, always last minute requirement changes, always frustration about a slip in procedures, always a sense of accomplishment when a release that has been thoroughly conceived and tested finally gets deployed. It's the nature of the software development beast. As with any company, some people have a better fit with Hilton Software, while for others, the experience of trying to push a round peg into a square hole continuously prevails. Thriving at Hilton Software is dependent on an individual taking the bull by the horns. The experience is what you make of it. Sometimes you may need to be a duck and let the water roll off your back, i.e., feathers. Other times you will feel a sense of belonging and feeling appreciated. You can be a big fish in a small pond and be able to wear different hats and increase your knowledge and be part of a team, that at times, feels like a family.
