Don't work here unless you know someone.

Pros

Benefits were varied and easy to use. Pay came on time which is always wanted, and the paid days off were very easy to use.

Cons

Management plays favorites, and complaints filed about someone who is a favorite go without any real consequences. I know this because I was one of those. I got the job because of someone I know in management, and kept it because of someone I know. After not completing 100% of the work that was required of me, for about a week straight I caused an issue to come up with another employee since I controlled how her schedule and schedule patients as well. After the incident she was fired. I felt horrible, I went to my department manager and she told me that it was fine things happen. I couldn't believe it, someone got fired because I was too comfortable with being lazy at work!! Soon after I began to get complaints filed about me to HR. After 3 I had to sit down with my manager and depadepartment head. Both told me that I didn't need to worry about being fired just try to work harder and to "let them know ahead of time if someone like this happens so they can make it go away". It blew mind that I could be so irresponsible and cost someone there job get complaints filed and still have nothing happen to me.

Do you enjoy being bullied and intimidated?

Pros

Their mission is admirable. People really need access to care and can find it here.

Cons

Unfortunately, HealthPoint employs management that is allowed to bully, intimidate, threaten, and otherwise behave in passive-aggressive or outright aggressive behavior. If you stand up for yourself or speak up, then you are targeted and pressured until you either quit or get fired for trumped up charges (i.e. not being 'positive' enough....somewhat difficult when you're under constant micromanaged attacks at all hours of the work day). Don't bother asking for time off to take care of your family or your own health. However, if you're in management or one of the favored few, then you can leave whenever you want or better yet come to work to study for your law degree or plan your best friend's wedding...all while your clinic goes up in flames. Great times! Thanks HealthPoint administration for giving us such an inspiring model of work ethics!

Big Dreams, Low Pay

Pros

The purpose, the mission, the goals of the organization, the CEO, the desire and hunger for change is ripe in the air for the organization

Cons

The salary grades across the board are a joke, and they actually present you with a chart on hiring that shows how much taxes they pay on your behalf which is incredibly insulting (who does that?!). They preach competitive compensation but their pay grades are transparent to employees, so anyone can compare to glassdoor, payscale, indeed, bureau of labor, etc. and see that nearly every single job description is underpaid (except higher level executives/managers, and doctors of course). They don't care though, because their third party compensation consultants reassure them they should pay less for being a medium sized non-profit. Long term, HealthPoint will only suffer from a continued lack of talent until they figure this out. You get one bucket of leave, but in total it is less than what other organizations give with two buckets of leave. They think it is the bees knees because the organization is hilariously insular with most employees having little experience with multiple other companies. If you happen to have a spouse, they say they will only cover around half the health insurance costs. While the CEO is very approachable, open-minded and driven to those below him, he has historically surrounded by old guard executives that preach more than listen, and explain more than promote change. The concept of "leadership from any chair" is promoted but in practice if you are not a supervisor, you are likely to be readily dismissed. The CFO displays a great deal of favoritism and old guard tendencies, and you can imagine what that's like when it's the person who holds the purse strings. Also, the CFO is in charge of HR: one wonders why that could be a problem and why it isn't done in other organizations.
