Pros

Can pretty much get the schedule you ask for, most coworkers are very nice people to work with.

Cons

Heavy patient loads, very little support from management if nurse is overwhelmed d/t the many issues that can come up in an acute care setting. Nurse is expected to handle it all. Company is overly profit driven- very little support for staff and facility. Patients are crammed into 3 person rooms. Facility is run down.

Pros

The best part about working for this company is knowing you are helping people who can't help themselves, (no I'm not talking about coparate) it's the residents. I work at The Reserve at Oswego(Illinois) location and the employees, mainly non-management are friendly and fun to work with. Some managers are really pleasant and down to earth. We also get meals for free, and in this economy it is one of the things keeping me from starving because it isn't the pay.

Cons

The biggest downside to working for this company is that coparate couldn't care less about you and HR is non existent unless they have a problem they need to clean up. Since the HR department is based out of Texas you're lucky if you see them once a year. Plus they will repeatedly deny you for FMLA for nonexistent reasons even though you have a family member going through the same thing that the residents "they care so much for" are going through. As far as our current Director Kelly, she rolls over for anything coparate tells her and does not fight for her employees like our last Director Sherri did. Her and coparate will lie about incentives, give other employees colossal raises far exceeding any raise you yourself have ever earned and then gaslight you by telling you that the raise you received was far beyond exponential and lie to you about wages of other employees even though you have seen first hand your coworkers paystubs. Even if you are far more experienced and have more knowledge of your position they will gladly pay unintelligent employees with less experience the same pay if not more. This company has policy that do not line up with state laws and mandates, for example if you are one minute late they will give you a point, if you have a doctors note and shouldn't be working around the high risk population you care for guess what? You get a point. We have lost 3 really great managers in a one month span because the director micromanaged to the point people couldn't take it. Overall some people, like the director should not be in the position they are in because they are on a power trip and don't like to be challenged over anything.

Environment not for me

Pros

I chose to work at Clearwater Springs (owned by Frontier Management LLC) because it seemed like a good place to work. Good reviews from residents, and seemed like a good place to help people. There were not many negative reviews from staff. Training consisted of two hours watching videos on a computer, and then thrown to staff to show you everything hands on. Unfortunately that was not enough time because it kept sending me multiple daily emails saying that I had expired videos. Unfortunately I was unable to finish the needed videos because I was never scheduled for them. My shift was 6 hours on NOC and 2 hours on day shift, so it was pretty draining with all I needed to remember for what shift. While NOC shift was happy to show me how to do things, day would ignore me and I would have to just follow someone because on busy days, no one wants a trainee. I quit working after two weeks due to how many caregiving staff chose to skirt around rules and procedures. Many staff members bad mouthed and made fun of residents as well, and only help the residents that are easy/ones they wanted to help. Because of this, some calls from residents would last a long time, or one person would be doing the brunt of the work while others spend too long in the rooms of their 'favorites'. Many things during my training were addressed as 'You are not supposed to do this, but here is an easy way to do this." I did address my concerns to management, however felt the need to leave after both day and NOC staff stopped taking PPE seriously after many residents and staff got COVID. I have a family that I need to support, and I can't do that if I get sick due to someone else not following state mandates. Clearwater Springs would not pass an undercover inspection from the state when it comes to COVID compliance by staff, especially on NOC. Management at least said they would take the PPE noncompliance seriously, but I am not sure what they can do. They can't be there 247.

Cons

Disrespectful employees, always getting calls on my days off with people telling me I was not scheduled for a day off.

Pros

Get company-provided lunch once a month. Coworkers are always helpful and willing to help

Cons

You have to work weekends when close falls on a weekend. All AR staff need to be in-office. Understaffed all the time but refuses to higher new people. CEO has made changes to working conditions and that resulted in multiple people leaving. CEO said he would "just hire new one's"

Pros

It was a tight knit community and the care staff knew each resident. Therefor they knew how to care for each resident.

Cons

People were confused as to why they were there, because they have memory problems, so I felt they didn’t bridge the gap between being at home, to being stuck in a facility looking for their family.
