Pros

Experience working with non-profit organizations.

Cons

Prior to my departure from the company and shortly after FrontStream had acquired BiddingForGood, a male employee visiting the Cambridge, MA office from the Toronto office harassed me at a company holiday party. I made it clear that his comments were inappropriate and made me feel uncomfortable. I reported the interaction to HR following the incident so there would be a record of his behavior in case he behaved this way towards anyone else at the company in the future. Judging by another review made here, this is a pattern of behavior that has not been addressed within the company. The employee has since been promoted to a VP position.

Thank you for your post. We are committed to providing a work environment that’s free of discrimination and harassment of any kind and take any allegation of a breach of such very seriously. As a matter of policy, reported allegations are investigated (by an outside third party, if warranted) and appropriate action taken, including the possibility of termination. - FrontStream Leadership Team

The company protects a dangerous employee

Pros

Good building facilities and access.

Cons

My decision to leave FrontStream was effected largely by an encounter I had with a man who works in a remote office. It started with some unwelcome and bizarrely hostile attempts at flirting over email followed by a request over Skype for my personal number. This employee is not in a visible or high enough position to be named here, but my guess is that his group is so regarded by those who are that he is insulated from repercussions. While the other reviews give a fair summary of the problems with the company, this guy's position and continued employment is an immediate threat to anyone who works at FrontStream. As he becomes more brave, it is more likely that someone will be hurt. Nobody should be forced to work or interact with this man, but as of my departure from the company, he was unavoidable by design.

Pros

coworkers are amazing, driven people who genuinely want to help nonprofits succeed - get out while you still can

Cons

upper management. Nina hires her friends, but lets take a moment to wonder why...EUREKA when the company is sold off (which is inevitable at this point), all of her cronies will have a huge pay day. the rest of us will have spent the last few years making them rich and with a tarnished brand on our resumes. all legitimate ideas that are presented to Nina are shot down with no explanation. seriously - you could spend weeks developing a proposal and she will take one look at it and call it stupid. gossipers and cliques run rampant. new policies are intended to further isolate employees instead of boost the already recognized morale issue, such as no notification when an employee leaves or joins a team. this is clearly an attempt to keep current employees in the dark about just how many people are leaving.
