Pros

There are no pros entering this bozo organization.

Cons

The current state of the company is like a flaming dumpster floating down a river of incompetence. Management seems to be on a mission to prove that they have absolutely no clue about effective decision-making. Their rush into reckless choices has become a dazzling display of failure. This has triggered a widespread epidemic of distrust, spreading like a virus across every layer of the organization. Brace yourself for the rollercoaster of organizational restructuring that seems to happen more often than clock ticks. And let's not forget the exquisite masterpiece that is the commission structure. It's as if they have a dedicated team working tirelessly to figure out how to snatch your hard-earned money while simultaneously perfecting the art of paying you as close to nothing as legally possible. Oh, and the joy of a daily commute that's basically a cross-country expedition just to be handed a pathetic salary– an amount that could only be described as laughable when you consider their lavish headquarters planted in the heart of "Costa del San Diego." Office spaces? Who needs practicality when you can have an abundance of unnecessary spaces that only the most elite minds can comprehend? The logic of allocating resources efficiently must have been abducted by aliens because this company revels in having more offices than actual employees. It's a cosmic joke, and not a funny one. The layoffs and departures? Think of it as the grand finale of their chaotic opera. A symphony of mismanagement and a chorus of misery, orchestrated by a director who's as present as a ghost in broad daylight. Who needs a raise anyway? Certainly not you. Your attempts to appeal for a fairer compensation were met with the kind of rejection that only the cruelest heart could muster. Your sweat and tears? Invisible to the ethereal director, it seems. And let's talk about career advancement. Climb that ladder? Sure, but only if you're part of the secret society. If you're not sipping coffee with the right clique, you're just another extra in this office drama. Office culture? Well, it's like a hazardous waste dump, complete with toxicity levels that could power a nuclear reactor. The harmony between Customer and Carrier sides is a masterpiece of chaos. Accountability is passé, finger-pointing is in vogue. Who needs problem-solving when you can have a merry-go-round of blame? And the cherry on top – those attempts to sprinkle joy with happy hours and sporadic snacks. Because, clearly, when faced with economic inflation, what you truly need is an occasional slice of pizza. Do your homework. Listen to the tales of woe from the survivors. Join this carnival of calamity at your own risk. This isn't just a dumpster fire; it's a circus tent ablaze.

Pros

“Unlimited PTO” is great if you choose to use it and your manager allows you to take those days off. They will try to have you work. Cold brew? Snacks? Ping pong table? Hybrid - 2 days WFH and that took work to get back. Lots of talent throughout the organization. Some amazing people are left. Great location a couple blocks from the beach.

Cons

The current state of the company is a dumpster fire. Management doesn’t know what they are doing. They make hasty decisions that end up blowing up in their face. This causes a lot of mistrust across all levels of the organization and frequent changes to the organization's internal structure. The commission structure just keeps getting worse the more time drags on. They will keep finding ways to cheat you out of money while also trying to pay you the minimum. I had to drive almost an hour to work just to get paid $24/hour base pay. That’s low considering they are located in one of the most expensive cities in San Diego. They burn money on unnecessary office spaces when they only need one office space with the amount of people still working at SD Office. It's a joke. So many people have either been laid off or driven out over the last couple months. It’s pretty much impossible to make commission unless you have a large book of business and that takes time to build. When I asked for a raise, I got shot down everytime no matter how much effort I put in. The decision was not on my direct manager rather the director who was not in office and didn’t see my day to day efforts. When asked what I could improve on to get to the next step in my career I was told I was doing a great job already with the resources I had. I worked there for about a year and a half and my pay remained the same. Speaking another language that is beneficial to the company or taking on additional tasks outside your job description will NOT get you a raise, just a pat on the back. This company does not care if you are hard-working, dedicated, etc. If you join this company, you will just be another “face” in the office. The company culture is very toxic. Unless you are part of a clique, your time at Flock will not be pleasant. Cliques will shield you from layoffs or help you get a promotion. Managers will do anything to please their high performing reps regardless of whether or not you follow the rules MANAGEMENT set in place. Workflows are the main issue that contribute to this problem and there seems to be no focus to fix it. Their focus is on the next fancy feature for their online self serve platform. There is a lot of conflict between the Customer and Carrier side. Some people will not own up to mistakes and just point fingers at each other. This does not get anyone anywhere and most of the time just makes the problem worse. Instead, just act like adults and try to find a solution to the problem at hand. Using Slack and answering messages is not that hard. To make their employees “happy” or boost morale they try happy hours, occasional food catering, or spirit days instead of offering raises to their employees. Let’s be real, in this economy a raise would be great considering how much prices have skyrocketed on everything. Please do your research. Read the reviews. Talk to former and current employees and make a decision on joining the company from that. Again, an absolute dumpster fire.

Pros

Flock used to be a fabulous place to work. Things were tough, but the people made it worth it every single day. The D&I initiatives, the laughs we'd share, and just all around it felt like we were working towards this amazing common goal. I was excited to tell people about Flock. Now I just regret hiring all of these smart, well intentioned people.

Cons

Oren. Take this man's soapbox away. I know CEO's are not good people, but this guy is truly the saddest. He has a great idea, but he gets in his own way. The shortest All-Hands he ever did is the one where he read from a script to lay people off right before the holidays. Even in that call, he blamed the employees, not himself. The culture. Candidates, if you sign with Flock, join a work clique asap with leadership. This may be the only thing to protect you from losing your job. Leadership lacks EQ, and will not listen to you. Oren, your employees do not respect you, because you HAVE NOT earned it. Candidates, do not sign here. You might be struggling post layoff, you may think this is your only option, it's NOT!! Know your worth a little and do not settle for less than you deserve. Flock is not what it used to be, and it's not what you deserve.
