Cons
Keep in mind that the cons stated below is more related to my experience in the support department rather than the company as a whole. -Be prepared to be here for 2+ years before your first promotion regardless of merit. Also an annoyance, Vestmark, as a policy, does not promote employees in the middle of the year. You have to wait until review season. -(At least in my department) Pay does not seem to reflect merit but rather how long you have been at the company. Employees are underpaid in general compared to the industry market value for the skill sets they bring. -The managers are people who have been at the company longest rather than people who are qualified to manage. -I would NOT recommend working here if you for looking ambition career development. Young graduates beware. You will be told that you do not have enough experience countless times even if you bring great merit. As stated previously, Management seems to relate time working at Vestmark as a measurement of experience rather than experience through merit and hard work. -To supplement an underpaying salary, Vestmark will give you some kind of stock unit. However, the company has been saying that they would go IPO for years and still has yet to pull the trigger. -Incredible amount of overall tech debt. During interviews, I was told that joining the support team would be a great way to feed into other departments (aka: Career Development). However, I found this to be very far from the truth as the support department will do the opposite and try to keep you on the team for as long as possible.
