Pros

-Great benefits -Good work life balance -Great place to end career or when you have a family -Good place to be for IT or Technical side of Asset Management

Cons

-Too many employees who have been there for 20+ and lack the skillset for their current role -Power driven management - focusing only on command and control rather than true leadership -High school like culture with a lot of gossiping and immature/inappropriate comments -Impossible to drive change as each decision is made by upper management and rarely listen to crew below -Terrible change management practices - especially around transformations -Your development is centered around what they want and expect you to be - innovation is completely lacking and sometimes pushed away -Leadership say one thing but will do the complete opposite or turn a blind eye -Preach a culture of transparency but do the exact opposite -Too many meetings with no decisive action -No development for younger crew - those in rotational programs required to lead senior staff at times without real leadership experience or training and those on the phones are extremely under valued by management -Incredibly poor compensation for the work they expect to be completed -De-motivating place to work as most of the ideas you bring to the table will either be ignored or credited to those most senior at the table -Very little motivation to change culturally and no urgency to get things done -Disorganized - have too many people in the wrong role -Lack creativity, openness and true collaboration

Pros

Vanguard covered housing for the summer for almost completely free and the people you work with will actively try to develop you.

Cons

The work you do (and therefore your overall experience) can be highly team dependent and team assignment seems to be random

Pros

Awesome coworkers for young professionals. Paid licensing for a few months.

Cons

Micromanagement is out of control. Incompetent team leaders who are obsessed with power and metrics. Back to back calls, limited support, and nearly impossible effective communication between departments. Zero time to cultivate culture because you are taking calls every second of the day except for 30min/1hr lunch and two 15 minute breaks. You’re locked into your role for over a year (apprenticeship for around 60 days, then a year after promotion to associate) and your team leaders will not approve internal applications unless you are “eligible”.
