Pros

Flexible working conditions, good pay, and excellent colleagues. Compared to other asset managers you can maintain a healthy work-life balance (though some probably take advantage of this), and the pay is pretty good once this is taken into account.

Cons

Dysfunctional management, with trouble stemming right from the top. The previous two CEOs refused to talk to one another, and after they were forced out they were replaced by two new CEOs, so decision making doesn't really happen. The work can be pretty dull as well. Engineers are 2nd-class citizens compared to modelers.

Pros

Strong learning environment for new grads, with exposure to smart colleagues, interesting research problems, good tooling, and generally strong compensation and benefits. The culture encourages rigor, careful thinking, and collaboration across research and engineering.

Cons

The learning curve can be steep, and it may take time to understand the codebase, research process, and expectations. Feedback and project direction can sometimes feel ambiguous depending on the team or manager.
