Pros

Some excellent people work here. They really care about their jobs and what they do, and that is inspiring. The dedication of the staff is very impressive. They give some people access to particular qualifications, which can help them improve their knowledge and skills in certain areas. The office is very colourful.

Cons

High turnover: I worked there for quite some time and can't remember how many people I saw come and go. From what I saw, most people were fired for fairly insignificant reasons. Some managers seemed to have a very hard time keeping a team togetherness. Low wages: The salaries were not competitive while I was there. Requests for pay rises were often dismissed or kicked down the road and not fulfilled. Few opportunities for advancement: There is not a lot of opportunity to advance into more senior roles. Senior positions are limited and guarded pretty closely by the people who have them. It's a fine place to work if you're trying to gain some experience and skills but not a place for long-term career progression, unless you're being hired directly into a management role. Bad management: There was a chronic distrust of the staff by management. A lot was expected from the staff but the structures needed to let them to perform well were not in place. Expectations were also not clearly articulated to employees and they were reprimanded when they were not met. In general, there was a 'sink or swim' attitude, which I don't think helped people develop. When things went wrong, junior members of a team were often thrown under the bus. Reckless: The company has a tendency to bite off more than it can chew. They don't have the capacity to deliver on a lot of their contracts, and this pressure is felt by the staff who are often snowed under with large workloads. Culture: There was a culture of nicknaming members of staff while I was there. While most were harmless and affectionate, some were quite patronising and used to harass and bully people. There was also a preoccupation with living up to certain vague and ill-defined 'values'. Rather than being ideals to live up to, these 'values' were constantly moving yardsticks used to provide negative feedback to the staff. This made it hard for many to take the values and the company seriously.
