Pros

Good for a young professional looking to get experience doing commercial construction projects in healthcare, medical research/labs, higher education, pharma, and other niche projects that have relatively more robust/complicated project specs compared to traditional brick and stick high rise projects.

Cons

Easy to become a utility or backfill person; easy to get lost in the sauce. Company going through succession of owners; did not have a clear path or direction on how to graduate or be promoted from within. Lacks clear tracking to grow with the company. Lots of older, tenured employees who have been with company since the very beginning; at times feels cliquey; company is in a transition period as of 2024/2025; less about your overall sacrifice and talent, and more about which important people within the company do you get along with and a "what have you done for me lately" mentality; advocation from others for hard work performed is lacking.

Pros

If you're applying to a superintendent position or PM you'll do ok. They are well compensated and respected. They are family oriented and understand when you have to take time off.

Cons

If you are applying to be a Project Engineer or APM beware of the current expectations. 1. your opinion doesn't matter. If the Owners or Design Engineers/Architects are rude and disrespectful don't expect upper management to have your back. They will tell you to just deal with it so at to not muddy the waters. 2. The "VP of Engineering" has never been an engineer, doesn't understand how the field operates and sets unrealistic goals and expectations that are designed to make you fail. If you want to severely injur yourself just climb his ego and jump down to his I.Q. 3. The company culture has been shifting for the past couple of years. They speak of Integrity, Family; Community and Trust but don't follow what they preach. They continue to protect terrible people as long as they are making the company money. 4. Bonuses are almost non existent and they don't offer a 401k match.
