Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for leadership with regards to sticking by their values. Occasionally bad metrics or conversion rates many teams blocked team members from growing within the company. But those who had glowing performance suffered even more, and were blocked from exploring other career paths. In my time, having the highest conversion rate within the sales team kept me from moving into other roles because “it was too detrimental to the team.” On multiple occasions I was blocked out of a role or passed over for someone with less experience and knowledge of the company. When things took a downturn starting pre pandemic, the micromanaging increased. At one point the CEO would log into the sales teams accounts to review and edit email. Performance improvement plans were just a sign that you would be fired from the company but them covering their mismanagement.
