Pros
It depends on your manager and department. I worked with two departments. Some departments are excellent in providing work life balance and growth opportunities. Have good work life balance in most departments - it really depends on your manager.
Cons
Some managers and departments ( cyber security group i worked briefly with) are control freaks with no direction or cultural awareness. HR is there nominally to onboard employees and help managers but lack insight on employee retention and/or rights. As it is mainly Pharma, it is very hard to move to other internal positions and lacks opportunities and process to do so.
