Pros

Sun Life has always treated me well. The management is overall kind, trustworthy and they care about their employees. They are very into w/l balance which is great, and very open to moving around internally.

Cons

The pay is average, and will never be more than that. Assuming you're a hard worker that goes above and beyond, SLF is many times strapped for cash to recognize their employees, and unfortunately base increases that are substantial enough to bring you mid market are hard to come by. Like many large, global organizations - there is alot of red tape. SLF does a great job (much better than other organizations) to push the envelope on innovation, but due to its size and bureaucracy, it lacks the cultural support to allow for new ventures to truly grow.

Pros

Sun Life provides competitive benefits, remote work opportunities, and the chance to work alongside knowledgeable professionals. The company offers strong learning opportunities within the disability and leave management space.

Cons

Staffing reductions and increasing workloads have made it difficult for some teams to maintain service levels while preserving employee well-being. Leadership communication and support can vary by department.
