Pros

I LOVED working at Stitch Fix for the majority of my time there. Here are the best things about working as a stylist: - Phenomenal, in-depth training - Support from team leads, mentors, customer service, and development - Opportunities for growth - Strong community of remote stylist - Fair pay and good discount - Fully-remote work

Cons

If you had asked me a week ago, I would have said none. Now, I realize how skewed my idea of the company and its executive leadership really was. As one of the thousands of employees who were laid-off with two days' notice and no more explanation than two paragraphs from a random manager, I realize how little anyone at the top cares about the lowly part-time stylists who keep them in business. I was one of the top stylists in my region and I recruited people to work alongside me because of how passionately I felt about this company. I also told everyone I know to join Stitch Fix as a client. Now, I will never buy another piece of clothing from them again and I will discourage my community from doing so. If this decision had nothing to do with the pandemic, I cannot begin to understand why the company couldn't wait to let people get back on their feet before pulling the rug out from under them. Many employees lost their full-time work and relied solely on income from Stitch Fix. Now, they're being told to "file for unemployment before the window closes."

Pros

• I work with genuinely kind, supportive people who are always willing to jump in and help or give feedback to help me grow. • I've had the opportunity to partner with a variety of teams and build meaningful relationships across the business even from a remote setting. • Flexible work environment that allowed for a healthy work-life balance. • I've always felt trusted to manage my workload and bring new ideas to recruiting processes. • Mission-driven culture with employees who truly cared about helping clients feel confident in their personal style. • Great place to develop recruiting skills while working alongside talented and thoughtful teammates.

Cons

• Stakeholder alignment could take time when multiple teams were involved in hiring decisions. • I honestly don't have many cons to share. I can genuinely see myself working at Stitch Fix for many years to come. It's a company that truly values its people, and I'm proud to say I work here when people ask. The culture, mission, and people make it a place where I feel supported, challenged, and excited to contribute every day.

Pros

You are able to work from home

Cons

Very unmotivating work environment. You get a couple of small raisies when you first start but then they cut off raises and expect you to perform at 100% efficiency 100% of the time. There is no motivation to do so. You are basically chained to you desk while you style because everything you do is timed. They provide no tools or stipend for the items you need in order to work from home. No internet stipend, nothing towards your computer, I never even got a pencil after being there 5 years. You have little no interaction with other people. The inventory is poor. Management is always turning over. I think I had about 8 different managers over my 5 years there. They mico manage you. You would think styling would be a creative job but not here. You don't even get to write your own note to a client anymore. AI writes it and you pretty much have to go that route bc you have about 8 minutes to style a client to stay within your efficiency goals. Overall its great that you can work from home but the job is extremely unmotivating and not rewarding. There is no room for advancement. DO yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This is not the company or culture you want.
