Pros

Most people honestly do care-first, for students and for coworkers.

Cons

Since joining, I’ve gone from elated to quietly and truly su1c1dal. The constant people shuffling, mysterious departures, and politics leave me anxious, exhausted, deflated, and feeling physically heavy. Working here has not been very good for my mental health. I’ll soon be gone in one way or another

Pros

A supportive and energizing company to be a part of with a team who genuinely cares about one another and the work they do. The mission is meaningful, and there is a strong sense of shared purpose across the organization. There are also lots of opportunities to take on new challenges, expand your skill set, and learn.

Cons

To be excelling in your role, it often requires putting in more than just a standard workday. This is not Stepful specific, it's the case with any start up and is not always a negative.

Pros

Stepful is a high-growth, fast-paced startup filled with incredibly bright people across every part of the business. You are constantly challenged to do your best work, solve difficult problems, and collaborate with teammates who push you to think bigger and execute better. That environment creates an enormous amount of professional and career growth. It’s not always easy, but being surrounded by talented, ambitious people raises the bar in a way that’s genuinely motivating and rewarding. What makes the work especially meaningful is the mission itself. The outcomes we drive directly impact students by helping them pursue more stable, meaningful careers in healthcare. At the same time, the company is helping address real labor shortages across the healthcare industry, so the broader impact feels tangible and important. It truly is a mission-driven culture where the work matters!

Cons

Like most high-growth startups, the environment is very dynamic and can be intense. Priorities evolve quickly and there’s rarely a sense of “routine” or day-to-day consistency. If you’re looking for predictability or a slower-paced environment, this may not be the right fit. There is also more work to do than hours in the day, and expectations are high. The same talented people who inspire you to grow will also challenge you to perform at a high level consistently.
