Pros

Perks of State Farm are the environment (loved working with most of the people), benefits are excellent, if you put forth your best work effort you can advance within the company easily.

Cons

MICROMANAGEMENT, workload (especially in the contact center is overloading, sanction system that is set up is HORRIBLE (no write ups and its pretty much a scenario where you can be terminated for any minor thing done since Ga. is an "AT WILL STATE". Lastly, COMPENSATION IS HORRIBLE. Recent raises were given but WAY BELOW MARKET AVERAGE. Recently hired with another major insurance company doing the same position and they pay almost $10,000 more (while offering benefits, bonuses and yearly raises) so don't let STATE FARM fool you. There are plenty of other companies offering the same and more. NEVER SETTLE..

Pros

(At the time) Fair pay and predictable bonus structure They were pretty good at covering travel expenses and paying them back quickly Diverse workforce & diversity initiatives Fun and funny coworkers Opportunities for growth Again, this was all four years ago and has likely changed

Cons

(At the time and now, according to other comments) Arrogant to a fault Total lack of innovation & willingness to innovate Odd attachment to the company's past (which prevents progress) High number of veterans (20+ years) who are determined to get that retirement money, and therefore, are resistant to change and technology Heavy reliance on command and control management style Poor decision-making that leads to losses of all kinds
