Pros
I loved the team I worked with. They are life long friends that I still hang out with all the time. The culture of the company is amazing... if it's done right and with people who have good attitudes. Most of my time at Starbucks was amazing. The last six months I started seeing its faults and found a new opportunity.
Cons
Overworked, understaffed. Expectations for baristas, shifts, and store managers is unrealistic. The pay isn't good. Once you become a Store Manager, very little development opportunities. Lots of pressure is given on the store-level employees, and upper management is out of touch with what it takes to run a clean, well-run, community-impacting store. DM's pick their favorites and the rest of the Store Management team is overlooked. Upper management is almost exclusively outsourced. You may get that one DM who "once was a barista" but generally they were friends with someone else who was a DM from their previous employer, making it hard to move up.
