I worked at Starbucks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

you might be lucky enough to work with some nice people. Free coffee but the coffee is muck. Easy to Take free food that is going out of date to give to the homeless even though that is strictly forbidden. No cameras in the stock rooms so it’s a free for all. Security staff are cool.

    Cons

Two brothers who run the franchise are scumbags. Indifferent and callous upper management. The woman that runs all the cafes is a tyrannical bully who is known to arbitrarily sack people simply because she does not like them. Staff treated like chattel No incentive given to work hard or achieve goals other than the threat of cutting hours or transferring to another shop that’s hard to get to. No rewards. EVER ...

    Advice to Management

It starts at the very top. EE group have created a culture of fear that runs down from the Butler Brothers all the way to supervisors. But they don’t care, they’re too busy polishing their Ferraris. Don’t ever ever work here

I have been working at Starbucks part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Paid breaks - Free coffee - Nice environment

    Cons

    - Silly policies - Standard pattern (e.g. always have to ask if the customer wants to try a new roast of coffee, which you have to explain further on) - COMPULSORY asking for names. There are situations when barista just looks silly, it's unnecessary.

    Advice to Management

    Check the cons.
