Pros
My office was not a recent acquisition so it is established in Stantec's (constantly changing) policies. There is interesting work, when we win it. The people are for the most part friendly. If you are an underachieving, poor attitude, rarely punctual employee, don't worry about it, because they will waste time, energy, and money on you until you leave voluntarily after providing little to no gain to the company. You can learn a very broad range of skills.
Cons
The focus is 100% clients, 0% employees. It is very hard to feel appreciated or valued at this company when the focus all of the time is making money. When people leave and resources dwindle, there are no changes to workload or chased work. They will maintain the same amount of work coming in the door, and you're lucky if it doesn't increase. The main point: there is no commitment to employees at this company. Not even a pretend one. Their salaries are below industry average, and they pay based on location. And they wonder why people leave for the other big firms.
