Pros

- Largely remote first - Kind and brilliant colleagues - Diverse and inclusive

Cons

- Salaries are factually lower than they were pre-pandemic (I could not in good faith refer a friend for an open role knowing they will be paid less than what I started on several years ago especially when inflation is factored in) - Company is very US-first and other regions including EMEA feel like an afterthought. US colleagues can choose between 50 states to live and work with some very appealing tax-advantaged locations whereas Ireland-based staff cannot relocate within the EU and are stuck paying at least 40% tax on earnings which completely inhibits the incentive to earn commissions - Precarious stock price: having been hired with a stock plan as part of my compensation I had seen the value plummet to near record lows but thankfully the C-suite have all made their millions already so there's no real need to worry - Compensation reviews each year even for high performers are not equitable. Most years my salary increases barely covered the effects of inflation - The decision to chase high value, enterprise-level clients means that we were hunting big whales but in a smaller and more competitive pond and were very much at risk if these clients ever churned. This strategy is super risky and since commission is so highly taxed (see above) the drive from employees to close these deals cannot be commensurate

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While it’s hard to hear that this was your experience after so many years at Sprout, we appreciate the honesty and the care behind your words. The experience you described isn’t what we want anyone to have, especially when it comes to feeling supported, fairly rewarded, and equally valued across regions. We’ve made meaningful changes, including adding dedicated People support in EMEA and strengthening our performance and compensation programs to better support career growth and planning globally. We know change takes time, and that doesn’t take away from the frustration you felt. We’re proud of the team we’ve built and confident in the direction we’re heading. At the same time, we’re always listening and learning, especially from those who’ve helped shape the journey. Thank you again for the years you spent at Sprout. We’re grateful for your contributions and wish you the very best.

Not much remote work is lonely but thats about it.

Pros

This is the best company culture, and I think everything else flows from it: the possibility of new projects, the work-life balance, the benefits. Sprout invests in its people, from generous PTO and company-wide R&R Days to meeting-free focus days. The benefits package is pretty comprehensive including medical, vision and dental plans, 16 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents, a 401(k) with company match, ESPP, and real remote work (you receive a stipends for your home office) with joining the whole team in Chicago a couple times a year. On the growth side, feedback is both expected and encouraged, informally and formally. I've been really happy here.

Cons

Compensation does trend below market average for the industry, but personally, the overall benefits package and culture help offset that.
