Pros
Discount, gratis, *minimal* brand training, making connections/coworker relationships
Cons
Sephora as a company is NOT the same Sephora it was 4-5 years ago. They are not interested in artistry and passion for the client, and ONLY focused on meeting metrics and pushing the store credit card. It is disgusting how low the pay is for the amount of work you are expected to do for a minimum wage job at a "luxury" retail company. I have watched Sephora evolve as a company over the years I have worked, and it is no longer an enjoyable working experience with no emphasis on growth or education for the Beauty Advisor or the client as it once was. Deeply saddening to see the company I used to love transform into another corporate cookie-cutter business model. Sephora used to be very generous to its' BA's, having brands come in and do immersive training, VERY generous gratis/friendly competition, and now nothing except a "good job" from a manager at the end of the day if you sell a credit card... My advice? Get out while you can. You are just another body for this company and are easily replaceable. If a company gives a worker no incentive to sell product (no commission), no incentive to sell credit cards, and push giant metrics that will be held against each advisor, IT IS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.
