Pros

its a very tight knit enviorment. there is usually 2 techs to 1 pharmacist. so being a pharm tech you really get one on one attention from the pharmacist in the beginning. you really get to learn all about the drugs, the interaction and just how a pharmacy runs. working at a drug store really helps you if you are planning on going into pharmacy school. because working there you learn the brand name drugs, the generic drugs, all the about insurance and just the ins and out of everything. so once you are actually in school you are ahead.

Cons

the pay is very low. starting out as a pharmacy tech i only recieved 7.35. as a pharmacy technician you would think that you would at least get eight dollars. out of all the drug stores, cvs, walgreens, duane reade, walmart, rite aid pays the lowest. its such a shame. pharmacy is a career with such huge sucess and with the amount of work that we have to do getting paid so little isn't good enough. plus sometimes you have to eat your lunch while working and standing up. so you may be filling a prescriptions while also eating your lunch. not fun at all especially if you worked an eight hour shift.
