Pros

The company has a gym with a $20 membership that cuts from your paycheck automatically, good cafeteria ambiance however food quality is not good.

Cons

Several friends warned me about RealPage culture before joining however I ignored them. I worked for RealPage for more than 2.5 years, more than 8hrs every day & sometimes on weekends scarifying my family time. But one day they let me go giving financial reasons. Changing a job is a very crucial step in anyone's life. Just to make sure you will not get trapped like me, here are reasons why you shouldn't consider joining RealPage or stay away from any investments. 1. Looks reviews from 2015, you will see layoffs is something common in their culture. They hire people & then they let go when work is done by moving it to offshore for maintenance. They don't like hiring contractors instead they hire full-time employees & layoffs as soon assigned work finishes. You even don't get assigned to any other project or team. There is another round of layoffs that happened silently just a few days back in this pandemic situation. 2. Company layoffs employees giving financial reasons however if you search on Google they buy-back company stock from the market almost every year after layoffs. This is something serious & can be sued. 3. Company flagship products are based on old technologies. Some products even won't work on chrome. Lack of technical leadership & skilled developers. If you are tech-savvy this company is not for you. 4. The company acquires products paying millions & then keeps it in maintenance mode. No new development. To accrue the cost they lay off people from the acquired companies too. 5. Overall lack of leadership, lack of drive & no motivation in employees. 6. No technical leadership in the company at all. Most people who are driving architecture is in the company for more than 15 years & they do not understand new technology. All of them work in survival mode blaming developers. 7. Old employees are rude & do not share anything for their job security. Old leadership is not able to take any action against them so their job is secured. 8. There is no good culture or core values in the company. I think they don't know what does that means. 9. All 4 or 5 stars reviews are bogus. Do proper research before joining the company. ** It's dark bad black spot on career life when you get laid off for no reason. **

Thank you for your post. I wish you had experienced a more positive outlook for the time you were year. I'm not going to go into each point as you are entitled to your opinions. For the majority of RealPagers, who recently filled out the engagement survey (86% participation) our scores for engagement and enablement were in the 70+% positive. Which is above Fortune Most Admired Company scores. I wish you experience had been different here and trust you will find the company that you desire to work for. Sincerely, Kurt Twining

Pros

Professionalism means building a workplace where fairness, merit, and respect matter more than favoritism and office politics.

Cons

RealPage may be a good company on the surface, but working in RUM software development was an absolute nightmare. From what I saw, promotions went only to white employees, favoritism ran the team, and toxic office politics mattered more than skill, fairness, or basic professionalism. The Senior Director was shockingly unqualified and created an environment where favorites were protected while capable people were pushed aside. I’m relieved my time there is over. What I still don’t understand is why RealPage allows such a hostile culture to exist, a culture where bad leadership thrives, politics beat merit, and the worst people are the ones rewarded.
