Pros
Fine staff, who are generally passionate about outdoor recreation and preserving wild places for future generations. Decent benefits, especially for full time. Decent perks, like pro-deals, though the pandemic lessened that availability. Decent focus upon training for one's position.
Cons
There should be an * around postings for retail positions, because of a giant caveat that is historically known among management but not often related to new hires, probably because it may be illegal, if not counter Politically Correct, especially in 2022. That is, staff working retail were commonly told, in response to queries about insufficient compensation, that floor positions were never intended to provide permanent FT compensation, that the jobs were always implied as "fun" jobs that provided pro-deals but no serious living wage. It was always implied that you either climbed the management ladder or had a spouse who had a "real" job. So compensation, especially as you gained seniority, has always been far below scale for similar positions of expertise and tenure.
